“From the time the world was created, people have seen the earth and sky and all that God made. They can clearly see his invisible qualities — his eternal power and divine nature. So they have no excuse whatsoever for not knowing God.”
Romans 1:20 NLT
This could get really deep, really fast. Let’s try to keep it simple. My mind is just running round and round this tiny scripture. I think Keven has actually posted something along these line, but much deeper…thanks mostly to C.S. Lewis I’m sure.
I often marvel at the handiworks of God. The night sky (which I don’t get to see now that we live in New Orleans) blows my mind. The infinite number of stars and planets that we can see. Knowing there is no end to it all, past what my imperfect human eyes can see. Our minds will never really be able to grasp the true concept of “unending.” Like God’s love…”unending”.
Nature. I love God’s beautiful creations. I would definitly have a lovely flower garden, unfortunately God did not bless me with a green thumb, so I simply get to admire through other means. The use of color, scale, it just all amazes me. From the enormous live oak tree I see through my window, to the tiniest wildflower. It’s all beautiful. Just like we are in the eyes of God. I noticed after hurricane Katrina, an interesting phenomenon. Beauty after the storm. In the distruction, broken homes, broken lives, broken creation, there was beauty to be seen. Think about that for a moment….can you see beauty in your brokeness? God can.
How can someone see His works and not know Him. I’ve heard stories of Native tribes that worshipped God, never being taught, just by observing His creation, they found Him in it. That amazes me. It also, creates a place of pain in my heart, thinking about all the people who refuse to see…
*Father, thank You for Your creation, Your witness of Yourself to us. Help me to always be thankful for that. Also, Lord, help me to guide others to see You as well. I’m not the best conversationist, but You can even use me as You use ALL of Your creation. Amen.*
Just a thought…
